Who are the Travel Guys?
Well, basically they’re two wacky guys who like to travel, as the name would indicate. (Well, at least THEY think they’re wacky!)
The difference between these guys and most tacky tourists is, Jim Gordon and Darren Parkman seek far off adventure in front of the camera, for all to cringe at! Be sure to catch all the fun and occasionally embarrassing escapades from Tokyo Japan, to Sydney Australia, to Chiang Mai Thailand. This personality driven show provides insight into popular and undiscovered destinations around the world, with tips on how to get there, where to stay, what to do, and what to avoid. (sometimes avoiding THEM is a wise insight!) The Travel Guys airs nationally on Shaw TV in 33 markets across Canada & seen in over 4 million homes.
Jim Gordon is Co-Host and Co-Producer of The Travel Guys. Having a major in film studies, Jim spent several years as a writer on TV shows in both Canada and the United States, which included travel to some exotic destinations. In 1997, Jim moved to Vancouver, where he joined the Vancouver media as a weekly film critic for both radio and television, including CTV, SHAW TV and CFUN. Currently, when Jim is not on the road with The Travel Guys, he can be found reviewing movies as a film critic for CTV and writing for the entertainment department at Vancouver Lifestyle Magazine.
Darren Parkman is Co-Host and Co-Producer of The Travel Guys. Darren brings with him 20 years of media experience in radio, television and print. As former co-host of a prime-time radio show, which aired from locations all around the world, Darren is no stranger to travel. Darren has published several travel stories and when not on the road with The Travel Guys, he can be found writing an entertainment column for 24 Hours, TV Week and Vancouver Lifestyle Magazine.
